In the period of July 2-6, 2012 the second Summer School in nanotechnology and biomedical engineering "Nano-Bioengineering-2012" was organized by the FP7 project MOLD-ERA. The second multidisciplinary event, organized at the intersection of several fields in Moldova, aimed at developing creative skills and training specialists for the national economy, in the hope that integration into the European Research Area will create more opportunities for the local R&D community.
Summer School "Nano-Bioengineering-2012" brought together 34 young researchers and students, selected through competition from various research institutions of the Academy of Sciences of Moldova (including Institute of Electronic Engineering and Nanotechnologies), Technical University of Moldova, State Medical and Pharmaceutical University "N. Testemitanu", and representatives of the business sector.
Through the duration of the Summer School lectures were delivered by teachers and researchers from partner organizations, including: Medical School Hannover (Germany), Center for Device Thermography and Reliability (Bristol, UK), Technical University of Moldova, State Medical and Pharmaceutical University "N. Testemitanu" and Institute of Electronic Engineering and Nanotechnologies of the Academy of Sciences of Moldova.
The second Summer School was intended to familiarize young researchers having relevant qualifications in medicine and/or bioengineering with actual issues related to nanotechnology applications in medicine, as well as those with background in nanotechnology to be introduced to medical bioengineering problems.
The event took place at the Technical University of Moldova, Department of Microelectronics and Biomedical Engineering at 9/7 Studentilor str., Chisinau, Moldova.
